The Cascadia Society
The Cascadia Society is a life-sharing community that includes adults with special needs. Cultural, artistic and therapeutic experiences are provided through residential home care and day activities within the urban setting of Vancouver’s North Shore. The Cascadia Society is dedicated to bringing healing to human beings and to the earth. Their primary task is to allow the potential in each person to unfold and to be in harmonious relationship with the environment.
Kids Up Front
Kids Up Front Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children and their families by making a lasting positive impact by providing safe, quality entertainment, cultural, educational and recreational experiences.
Studio in the City
Studio in the City is an annual program that provides youth with opportunities to apprentice in the arts on various canvases and landscapes throughout the City of North Vancouver. Studio in the City is a City of North Vancouver youth employment program that partners with supporters of the arts; including Lonsdale Quay Market, Artists for Kids, the Vancouver Biennale, and the Digital Media Academy.
Sutherland DiverCity Club
This club works to create an inclusive atmosphere at Sutherland that celebrates diversity in sexual orientation and gender variance.
The Vancouver Waldorf School offers an experiential, age appropriate approach to education that integrates arts and academics to ignite a genuine passion for learning. Our unique curriculum inspires students to evolve into confident, creative thinkers with a strong sense of social and environmental responsibility.
Little Mountain Neighbourhood House
We provide necessary educational, cultural, recreational, and social services for the community of the Little Mountain and Riley Park area. We encourage active participation and proactivity as we strive towards the development of a healthier community.
Ridge Meadows Association for Community Living
Founded in 1958, the Ridge Meadows Association for Community Living is a nonprofit agency that provides services and supports for more than 600 children and adults with developmental disabilities, and children at risk of developmental disability or delay, and their families. Services include developmental, educational, recreational, vocational, and residential programs.
Leigh Square Community Arts Village
Port Coquitlam’s cultural plan and policy completed in 2001 by PERC Legacy Heritage Consultants resulted in the City adopting its first cultural plan and policy to recognize culture as an important factor in the development of the community and adopting the community cultural development model to enhance opportunities for local business and urban revitalization.One of the directives resulted in the development, completion and operation of the Leigh Square Community Arts Village in 2007, the first dedicated cultural space in the City to support and celebrate arts, culture and heritage, although there was always a presence of arts programming at the community centres.
Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver
The mission of the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is to provide leadership in cultural, recreational, educational and social activities, enabling individuals and families to achieve and enhance a positive identification with Jewish life and Israel, and to develop good citizenship and a sense of community.
PuSh International Performing Arts Festival
The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival is one of Vancouver’s signature events. Produced over three weeks each January, the PuSh Festival presents groundbreaking work in the live performing arts. The PuSh Festival expands the horizons of Vancouver artists and audiences with work that is visionary, genre-bending, multi-disciplined, startling and original. The Festival showcases acclaimed international, Canadian and local artists and mixes them together with an alchemy that inspires audiences, rejuvenates artists, stimulates the industry and forges productive relationships around the globe.
Friends of the Grove
The “Friends of The Grove” is a group of Newton neighbours that have taken root in the beautiful cluster of cedars beside the Newton Recreation Centre known as “The Grove.” Using music, art and playfulness the “Friends of The Grove” bring fun, peace and harmony to the Newton neighbourhood.
Parkgate Community Centre
Parkgate Community Services Society is a registered, not-for-profit charitable society that has been in operation since 1983. We reach out to develop, support and strengthen the community we serve. We collaborate with organizations, and connect and engage families and individuals of all generations, cultures and abilities.
Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House plays a leadership role in creating our community together by connecting people and strengthening their capacity to create change.
